Life is better with a well trained dog. The basics are necessary to live comfortably in the house. Sit/Place, Stay/Wait, Heal, Come Here and Wait are the most basic commands. If that is all the dog learns, it will have an easy life in the house. These commands are also the basic starting blocks to retrieving.
Positive reinforcement training is used to train these commands with lots of treats and fun learning games.
Two options are available for this training:
Option 1 - Board and Train
Dogs are brought in at 5 months old and stay at our kennels for 6 weeks learning commands and behaviors needed for life. This is usually a good option if the pup is going to move on to retriever training later.
Option 2 - Class
This 1-on -1, 2 hour class works well for brand new pups and will help calm down anxieties of a new pup. The owner is taught how to train their pup using treats, kennels, and toys.
